A Funny Kind of Love

OK - this is not normal.
I am in love with an appliance.
Let me give you a little background.

For eight years we have struggled with our side-by-side refrigerator.
Ice-maker rarely worked.
We gave up and just bought bag after bag of ice.
$100.00 a month - bag after bag.
When we moved to Moonlight Lane, the water dispenser never dispensed.
So I was buying 2.5 gallon jugs of filtered H2O
which consumed a good portion of a shelf.
The meat drawer never completely closed so it was covered
and insult to injury, was difficult to open.
Crisper drawer was always shutting the light off in the fridge.
Door shelves continually cracked and replacing with new plastic fronts was a
whopping $45.00 per pane!
Yes, that fridge was a pain!
There should be a lemon law for appliances.
Hear that GE?
A Lemon Law.

Enter the new stud.....

Samsung French door.
LED lighting.
10 pounds of ice per day - Yes, PER DAY!
Water from the dispenser.
So quiet you don't even know it's there.

Arms open wide and there it is.
Welcome home to my
Stainless steel love.

Saturday Shopping List

Yes, it's Saturday and time to hit the stores to get weekly provisions.
Here are a couple of things I will pick up and a couple that I will order on my Amazon Prime.
This comes recommended by Rene at Cottage and Vine
She uses the bar version but shared that her son, a swimmer, uses the body wash.
Living in Southern California, we suffer dry and itchy skin.
This stuff is fantastic.
Contains Oatmeal, Aloe and Vitamin E, it does all that it claims.
mr b was a little "scared" at first -- it really is black!
But just after one use, we are both hooked.
I am ordering a second bottle from Amazon so I don't run out of it @ $11.04.

Now on to hair care:
I have baby-fine hair that tends to be dry from styling and the products needed to keep me ab-fab.

This tip is from Vicki Archer
Just a 1/4 cup warmed, smoothed over hair and left on for an hour will restore moisture and shine.
Polynesians have been using this for millennia but I am certain the ancients did not warm in their microwaves.
Trader Joe's has a price-friendly jar @ $5.99

Keeping with the coconut theme, I have been using this for over a year now.
Every night before bed I dab, OK slather, this on.
Again, Trader Joe's comes through with another price-friendly item @ $4.99.

I will be shopping for a new lemon tree to replace the one that c'est mort.
And then some lavender for the inside entry at my gate.

This is my inspiration from Velvet and Linen, Brook Giannetti's blog.
She and her husband, Steve, own "a place" in Ojai.
Their new book, Patina Farm, just out this week and a best seller at Amazon,
enchants as you walk with them through their creation of a gentler lifestyle after relocating from Santa Monica.
I plan to use their garden and home as inspiration for my own.
I only regret that mr b won't let me get miniature donkeys or goats.  Party-pooper!
If you love d├ęcor, lifestyle, looky-looing this book is for you.

Time to walk the babies and get on with my day.
Enjoy yours and thanks for dropping by.

(photo: Brain Aris, 1990's) - seen on That's Not My Age.

Yes _ this is her at 66 years of age.
Still a knock-out beauty.
Now this is how you do it gracefully.
